San Diego County Credit Union Proactively Directs All Calls to Redundant Facility to Avoid Member Interruption
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 13, 2013) San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, in an effort to minimize customer service impacts related to a phone line connectivity issue, proactively routed calls to its alternate facility.
“All SDCCU systems are up and running,” said San Diego County Credit Union President & CEO Teresa Halleck. “While SDCCU recently experienced phone connectivity issues to our main line, customers continued to conveniently access their accounts and conduct transactions through sdccu.com, our 31 convenient branches, 30,000 surcharge-FREE ATMs, SDCCU Mobile Deposit and mobile banking, as well as our secure online live chat.”
All calls to the main number were routed to SDCCU’s secure alternate facility and employees have been taking customer calls from that location. “Having an alternate location is a normal part of doing business today,” stated Halleck. She continued, “SDCCU is well prepared for business continuity impacts, with alternate plans in place to ensure customer service levels are proactively managed.”
Customers may experience a busy signal due to high call volumes to the main “877” number. The company apologizes for any inconvenience and has placed additional contact numbers on its website, sdccu.com, referencing alternative phone numbers to reach SDCCU by phone. In addition, the organization extended call center hours to provide phone service to those customers who had difficulty getting through earlier in the day.
