Schline named League President/CEO effective July 1, 2018

21-year veteran of the League began as its director of governmental affairs

COLUMBIA, SC (February 16, 2018) — The Carolinas Credit Union League (CCUL) Board of Directors has selected Dan Schline to serve as its next president and CEO. The selection comes after a national search conducted by CU Resources, Inc. Schline will assume the role on July 1, 2018 upon the retirement of John Radebaugh, who has held the position since 2003.

“John Radebaugh has been a strong, steady credit union leader in the Carolinas for the past fifteen years.  He played a major role in the consolidation of the North Carolina and South Carolina leagues and has done an exceptional job of building consensus among the states’ credit unions,” said CCUL Board Chair and SPC Credit Union President/CEO Linda Weatherford. “He leaves a legacy of integrity and passionate commitment that will serve the Carolinas and credit union movement for many years.

“In Dan Schline we have someone well positioned to lead the League in the years to come,” Weatherford said of the League Board selection. “He brings great passion for the work credit unions are doing and has the vision to ensure the League’s continued success.”

Schline has worked with credit unions for twenty-one years. He began as director of governmental affairs with the North Carolina Credit Union League (NCCUL) in 1997, serving in a variety of roles for NCCUL including ten as senior vice president. In 2014 Schline was part of the team that facilitated consolidation of two independent associations to form the Carolinas Credit Union League, a two-state association serving credit unions in North and South Carolina. Schline currently serves as executive vice president/COO of the Carolinas Credit Union League.

“Dan’s a proven leader in our organization and he will do a phenomenal job as the new president and CEO,” shared Radebaugh. “Credit unions in the Carolinas know and respect his work. He’s been a tireless advocate for credit unions from day one more than two decades ago.”
