SDCCU launches Holiday Toy Drive benefiting Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego and Children’s Hospital of Orange County

Toys collected in San Diego through November 1 will support the 17th Annual AJ’s Kids Crane

SAN DIEGO, CA (October 26, 2018) San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, has launched its eighth annual Holiday Toy Drive benefiting Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego and Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s).

Through December 17, 2018, every one of SDCCU’s 43 convenient branch locations throughout Southern California will serve as an authorized drop-off location for new, unwrapped toys. All toys will be donated to the two hospitals.

“We encourage everyone to pick up an extra toy while they are out shopping this holiday season to give to these courageous children who find themselves in need of pediatric healthcare. This small gesture is bound to put big smiles on the faces of youngsters during their time at Rady Children’s,” said SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Halleck Campbell.

This year in San Diego, SDCCU is teaming up with the 17th Annual AJ’s Kids Crane to collect toys for Rady Children’s Hospital. Toys donated through November 1 will support the effort, led by AJ Machado of AJ & Sara on Sunny 98.1.

Donated items may be used throughout the year as gifts to individual patients in various age groups. In addition, donated items may be utilized in playrooms and support groups as in-room activities for patients and in conjunction with therapies. The hospitals cannot accept stuffed animals or violent-themed toys, such as guns.

Last holiday season, SDCCU’s customers and employees donated more than 1,600 toys in support of SDCCU’s seventh annual Holiday Toy Drive.
