Second annual “Hops for Hope” in Portland as Young Credit Union Professionals raise bucks for Doernbecher
PORTLAND, OR (November 16, 2018) — Young Credit Union Professionals of Oregon & SW Washington (YCUP) is going all out — at Kells Irish Pub and Restaurant — in support of Credit Unions for Kids on behalf of Oregon Health and Science University’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
Their second annual event, aptly named “Hops for Hope”, will feature beer and cider, appetizers, music, and fun. Libations will be flowing and networkers will be networking as Credit Union names from all over the Pacific Northwest join together to raise money for the kids.
“While it’s important to ensure those tomorrows for our children, we have to be careful not to forget that they are somebodies today,” said YCUP Oregon & SW Washington VP of Communications Michael Murdoch.
“After the jaw-dropping amount raised during MAXX, it’s important we keep that momentum no matter how big or small because people helping people is what we do,” he added.
Entertainment and food will be provided, but the main event will be a silent auction to help in raising money for Doernbecher. Additionally, sponsorships of the event are available in tiers from $100 to $1000 and involve numerous promotional opportunities for vendors. YCUP Oregon & Washington is hoping for 100 ticket sales for the event.
“YCUP is ambitious this year, aiming for $10,000 raised, which we know we can do but we need help from all of you out there,” said Murdoch.
