Security First Federal Credit Union names new president/CEO

PLANO, TX (June 17, 2019) — Security First Federal Credit Union named Erasmo Ramos as its new president/CEO effective Monday, June 24. Credit Union Resources, Inc. conducted the executive search for the $350 million credit union.

Ramos’ credit union management experience will be a valuable asset to Security First FCU. His passion for developing strategic direction and executing tactical plans will help Security First continue to provide exceptional service to its members.

Ramos comes to Security First from Laredo Federal Credit Union in Laredo, Texas, where he served as president/CEO. He was responsible for developing operational policies and practices for each department function and maintaining a management information system capable of ensuring the consistent application of policies and practices in all departments. At Laredo FCU, Ramos successfully led the credit union from an NCUA troubled status to a healthy CAMEL (capital adequacy, asset quality, management, earnings, and liquidity) rating.

Prior to being the president/CEO at Laredo FCU, Ramos served as the president/CEO at La Joya Federal Credit Union in La Joya, Texas, where he participated with the Board of Directors in the strategic planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling of the credit union’s corporate and operational business affairs.

Ramos earned a master’s degree in business administration and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, Texas.
