Security Service Federal Credit Union Donates $10K to San Antonio Rebuilding Together

(September 4, 2013) — Jim Laffoon, president of Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU) and the SSFCU Charitable Foundation, presents a $10,000 grant from the Foundation to Joan Headley, executive director for San Antonio chapter of Rebuilding Together –a national nonprofit working to improve the lives of homeowners in need. The funds will be used to purchase materials and supplies for the organization’s annual home repair workday in September.

Rebuilding Together brings together volunteers, community leaders, and corporate partners to provide critical repairs, accessibility modifications, and energy efficient upgrades to low-income homes and community centers at no cost to the service recipients so they can continue to live in a safe and secure environment. Since it began in 1994, the San Antonio chapter of Rebuilding Together has mobilized more than 15,000 volunteers who have completed more than $2.5 million worth of renovations at more than 500 homes.
