Securityplus Federal Credit Union partners with Soles4Souls to provide shoes and hope worldwide

BALTIMORE, MD (September 26, 2025) |

Securityplus Federal Credit Union is proud to announce the success of its first-ever community shoe drive in partnership with Soles4Souls, a nonprofit organization committed to turning unwanted shoes and clothing into opportunities that promote dignity, sustainability, and economic development.

Through this powerful initiative, Securityplus employees, members, and community supporters came together to donate over 1,000 pairs of shoes, 50 boxes in total, along with generous cash contributions to support Soles4Souls’ global mission. These donations help children, families, and individuals around the world gain access not only to essential footwear but also to a path toward improved health, confidence, and opportunity.

“These donations are more than just shoes, they’re steps toward hope, comfort, and opportunity,” said Obinna Ndukwe, Chief People & Impact Officer at Securityplus. “I’m incredibly proud of our team, our members, and our community partners who came together to make this impact possible.”

Tymeshia Alleyne, Onboarding Experience Coordinator, added, “It was inspiring to see longtime members, new volunteers, and first-time donors all come together. Whether through donating shoes, giving financially, or volunteering time, this effort showed what happens when service becomes a shared purpose.”

This community initiative is one of many ways Securityplus is deepening its impact locally and globally. Rooted in the credit union philosophy of “people helping people,” this effort reflects a commitment to supporting underserved populations, reducing waste, and creating sustainable change.

Since its founding in 2006, Soles4Souls has distributed over 83 million pairs of shoes in 129 countries, helping to keep textiles out of landfills while empowering people through micro-enterprise programs and direct donations. To learn more about their impact, visit soles4souls.org.
