Service Credit Union Improves Teller Environment, Member Service With IMM’s TotaleReceipts

Credit union reduces paper, streamlines tasks for tellers within U.S. and overseas

LINDEN, NJ (May 7, 2013) IMM, a provider of innovative eSignature, workflow and document solutions for financial institutions, today announced that Portsmouth, N.H.-based Service Credit Union has implemented TotaleReceipts. The $2.3 billion credit union has been leveraging several IMM products over the years, and by adding TotaleReceipts the credit union can now electronically sign and generate custom receipts to streamline teller processes across the U.S. and Germany.

TotaleReceipts enables Service Credit Union to improve the work environment for tellers by eliminating the need for large, bulky printers at each teller station. The solution seamlessly archives each electronic transaction receipt as a PDF, eliminating labor intensive scanning and indexing. TotaleReceipts also gives members more options; they can forgo paper receipts and have transactions e-mailed to them if they choose, or receive an easy to read printed copy, which is generated on a small footprint thermal printer.

Bill Arnold, chief information officer for Service Credit Union, said, “Like the other IMM solutions we have benefited from for many years, TotaleReceipts provides us with a wide variety of valuable capabilities. Since we have branches in the U.S. as well as overseas and serve many members of the military, we see several different forms of identification. Previously, tellers had to hand write the ID type on the paper receipt, but TotaleReceipts automatically logs whether a member presented a military ID, drivers license or another form of ID.”

TotaleReceipts has significantly reduced the amount of paper Service Credit Union uses.

Arnold added, “Even if every single member asked for a printed receipt, with TotaleReceipts we would still only need one-fourth of the paper once required.”

The credit union has leveraged several other IMM solutions over the years and recently implemented the company’s cloud-based eSignature solution, Document Exchange.

“The implementation of TotaleReceipts fits well with Service Credit Union’s vision to electronically streamline many previously paper-based processes,” said John Levy, EVP and co-founder of IMM. “Service Credit Union wanted a single source technology partner to create operational efficiencies and to provide the cost benefits associated with reducing paper.”
