DEER PARK, TX (August 5, 2020) — As essential employees, the Shell FCU staff have continued their “Game Changer” mentality of being team players. They are eager to assist members, support their fellow teammates, change their approach and uphold the passion and integrity they are known for within the communities served.
Shell FCU’s executive team wanted to thank the staff for being essential employees through the initial onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and for continuing to be exceptional ambassadors of extraordinary service. In June, each Shell FCU employee received a custom Essential Employee thank you gift box containing a Shell FCU Essential Employee shirt, cookie, poem and ice cream. Currently staff is encouraged to wear their Essential Employee shirt on Wednesdays.
Communication to the staff has been key from the onset of the pandemic. Human Resources sends out frequent updates and Shell FCU’s CEO/President, Jose Rodriguez, communicates with the staff through e-mail, videos and virtual staff meetings on next steps while Shell FCU adjusts to the CDC’s guidelines. With the safety of the staff as a top priority, the credit union provided and served individually packaged lunches to the staff at their desks from March 16th to May 29th (53 business days).
Following the CDC’s initial guidelines the staff was social distanced or split in two alternating work teams. Equipment was deployed to various staff members, so they were able to provide service to members remotely. Masks were required early on and are still required as staff has been brought back into the office since early June. Sneeze guards were installed at all member interaction touchpoints and the credit union reopened it’s lobbies as soon as it was safe for members and staff all while continuing to follow the CDC’s recommendations.
Shell FCU continues to follow the CDC’s guidelines. Temperatures are taken daily when entering the building, masks are required, social distancing is practiced and much more.
