South Jersey Federal Credit Union awards scholarships to high school students

DEPTFORD, NJ (May 10, 2018)South Jersey Federal Credit Union (SJFCU) has awarded nine soon-to-be college students with scholarships totaling $4,500.

To be eligible to receive a scholarship, the student or their parent was required to be a member of South Jersey Federal Credit Union. Official high school transcripts, SAT/ACT scores, a letter of recommendation, and an essay were required.

The students were presented their scholarships from Ernest D. Huggard, CEO of South Jersey Federal Credit Union. “On behalf of South Jersey Federal Credit Union and myself, I would like to congratulate our scholarship winners for their hard work and dedication to their studies…We wish each of you unlimited success in the future,” said Huggard.

The following students were awarded scholarships.

  • Carly Smith from Timber Creek Regional High School received a $500 scholarship, and will be attending Townson University
  • Eve Penuel from Eastern Regional High School received a $500 scholarship, and will be attending the University of Pittsburg
  • Rachel Lynch from Eastern Regional High School received a $250 scholarship, and will be attending Highpoint University
  • Ilse-Marie Cook from the Gloucester County Institute of Technology received a $500 scholarship, and will be attending the University of Delaware
  • Casey Moore from Clayton High Schoolreceived a $750 scholarship, and will be attending the University of New Haven in Connecticut
  • Jessica Alicia Lugo from Cherry Hill High School Westreceived a $750 scholarship, and will be attending Florida Institute of Technology
  • Kayleen-Anne Italia from Padua Academy received a $750 scholarship, and will be attending Boston College
  • Whitney Wilcox from the Gloucester County Institute of Technology received a $250 scholarship, and will be attending Thomas Jefferson University
  • Drew Monteleone-Haught from Gloucester County Christian School received a $250 scholarship, and will be attending DeSales University.
