South Jersey Federal Credit Union donates to Burn Foundation

South Jersey Federal Credit Union (SJFCU) presented a check in the amount of $1,500.00 on August 22nd to local Burn Foundation representative and artist Joseph M. Getsinger.  For almost 40 years Getsinger has created a large number of paintings to support burn victims and survivors for the Burn Foundation.  This year SJFCU has agreed to pay for the commemorative collector’s “LEGACY” pins that will be available at the annual New Jersey Fireman’s Convention being held in Wildwood September 14th and 15th.  The collector pins match the custom painting for the yearly event and help generate additional funds.

Joseph M. Getsinger 2018 “LEGACY” Painting

With the assistance of Deputy Chief Joseph Cunningham, Sr. and members of the Delran Fire Department, this image was successfully created by artist Joseph M. Getsinger.  “LEGACY” of firefighters is the Burn Foundation Fundraiser image for the Wildwood Fireman’s Convention this weekend.  Captain Joshua Stellwag, volunteered to help the artist with the photo shoot and became the focus of the painting, being the present-day firefighter in the full gear depicted in the painting.  The painting depicts a firefighter leaning against a fire truck after the fire, worn out, tired, or deep in thought.  The reflections in the truck and in the puddled water are firefighters from different eras supporting each other in spirit throughout the years.  You can also see an early image of Benjamin Franklin watching over, who is known for forming the Union Fire Company in Philadelphia, Pa in 1736, which was also known as Ben Franklin’s Bucket Brigade.
