St. Helens Community FCU Announces Tyler Cook as New Financial Advisor

Credit union chooses local investment professional to serve members

ST. HELENS, OR (July 17, 2013)St. Helens Community Federal Credit Union (SHCU) today announced the selection of local financial professional Tyler Cook to serve as the credit union’s financial advisor and to provide investment and insurance services to its 16,000 members.

Cook is currently a licensed financial advisor registered through CUSO Financial Services, L.P. (CFS), a financial planning firm that specializes in serving credit unions and their members. CFS was recently named SHCU’s broker dealer through which the credit union will provide its employees and members financial planning, retirement strategies, investment services, education funding, and life and long-term insurance. Cook previously worked at a wealth management firm in Scappoose, Oregon, building personalized investment strategies for local residents.

“It’s a privilege to continue serving the residents of Columbia County as the new financial advisor at SHCU,” said Cook. “I look forward to establishing meaningful, long-term relationships that help members achieve their financial goals and strengthen their bond with the credit union.”

According to SHCU President and CEO Brooke Van Vleet, Cook’s strong local connection and experience helping area residents improve their financial position make him an ideal candidate to serve as CFS’s representative to the credit union’s members.

“Tyler is an experienced financial advisor who knows our local community and can provide informed, personalized service to our members,” said Van Vleet. “Through our partnership with CUSO Financial Services, he will be able to offer our members a wide variety of investment and insurance products to help them financially prepare for the future.”
