Texas Trust employees graduate from Leadership Academy
ARLINGTON, TX (February 24, 2022) — Six Texas Trust Credit Union employees advanced their credit union industry knowledge and learning through the Cornerstone Leadership Academy.
The graduates completed a nine-month program designed to immerse them in the credit union industry and develop leadership skills.
Academy classes addressed industry history and philosophy, credit union operations, compliance, marketing, human resources, accounting and lending, project management, and governmental affairs. The classes were facilitated by leading credit union professionals from throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
The six Texas Trust graduates have diverse backgrounds and experiences and support various operations. They are:
- Amy Angel, Branch Manager
- Lauren De La Cerda, Sales Service Associate
- Kelsey Hansen, Facilities Coordinator
- Austin Silvas, Marketing Specialist
- Monica Windham, Item Processor
- Tory Young, Member Solutions Sales Coach
Austin Silvas, who has been with Texas Trust for two years, noted that “My biggest takeaway was learning about how different departments and specialties impact the overall success and strategy of the credit union. It was also a great way to network with other credit union professionals.”
“The Cornerstone Leadership Academy is designed to cultivate leadership,” said Ginia Chapline, Chief Operating Officer for Texas Trust Credit Union. “We send promising employees to the academy to promote professional growth and give them opportunities to develop skills that will strengthen their career path with us.”
Chapline added, “The academy helps reinforce our people helping people philosophy, which is the core of everything we do.”
