Texas Trust Launches Mobile Deposit for Consumer Banking Applications

MANSFIELD, TX (April 2, 2013) – Mobile banking has become more convenient at Texas Trust Credit Union with the introduction of mobile deposit. This new mobile banking service allows members to deposit checks in real time from anywhere, simply by taking a picture of the check with a smartphone or mobile device.

Mobile deposit is part of Texas Trust’s mobile solutions portfolio. It works on most Apple® or Android® smartphones or tablets, without the need for a computer. Members endorse the check, snap a picture of the front and back of the check using their mobile device, then submit for deposit. With this service, there is no longer a need to visit a branch or ATM to make a deposit. Transactions are transmitted with multiple layers of security.

Members can deposit up to five checks, or up to $10,000, per day via the mobile deposit.  The first $2,500 each day is immediately available upon receiving a deposit acceptance response on their mobile device.

There is no monthly fee or minimum deposit required to use Texas Trust’s mobile deposit. The service is free to members signed up for Texas Trust’s mobile banking services or those with  a Texas Trust Free & Flexible or Traditions checking account, or a Mega Money Market account. Some restrictions apply.

“Mobile deposit is about convenience. It gives the member the ability to deposit checks without having to visit a branch or go to an ATM,” said Jim Minge, president of Texas Trust Credit Union. “With mobile deposit members have the ability to make deposits anytime or anywhere.”

Mobile deposit captures the funds so that members can deposit the money into a single account, or multiple accounts. This functionality combined with Texas Trust’s mobile banking allows members to conveniently access account information, check account balances, transfer money between accounts, view transaction history, and search for surcharge-free ATMs using a smartphone. It even allows for instant transfers between different Texas Trust members making it easy for parents to transfer money to their college student’s accounts, or to pay the babysitter electronically.

Texas Trust worked with Cachet Financial Solutions to develop the mobile capture functionality and its integration partner Access SoftTek for the mobile banking platform.
