TFCU announces new High School Spirit Debit Card to benefit local area high schools!

EL PASO, TX (October 21, 2019) — TFCU announced its highly anticipated High School Spirit Debit Card Program to the community and education partners at a pep-rally style press conference on October 15, 2019, at ESC Region 19 (11670 Chito Samaniego), with the help of high school mascots, drum lines, and cheerleaders. The six school districts participating exclusively with TFCU in the High School Spirit Debit Card program are Canutillo ISD, Clint ISD, El Paso ISD, San Elizario ISD, Socorro ISD, and Ysleta ISD, including 33 local area high schools. For the first time, the majority of El Paso’s high school mascots shared the stage united in celebrating the new partnership that brings the community closer.

The TFCU High School Spirit Card is the only card that gives cash back to the local high school of your choice. The new program allows TFCU account holders the opportunity to customize their TFCU debit card design with one of 33 participating local high school logos. With every qualifying purchase made using a TFCU High School Spirit Debit Card, TFCU will make a cash donation to the local high school. During the press conference, TFCU surprised attendees by announcing that the credit union would match every qualifying swipe donation to all 33 schools for the first three years! Donations will be presented to schools twice a year and will benefit different organizations, clubs, and sports teams.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to our community in such an impactful way,” said Alejandro Yu, Vice President of Marketing at TFCU. “Plus, anyone in the community can participate and actively give back to the school of their choice.” Mr. Yu presented a $1,000 check to all six participating school districts in attendance to immediately benefit from the new TFCU High School Spirit Debit Card program.
