Five New Members Appointed to the Supervisory Committee

EL PASO, TX (May 16, 2022) — During TFCU’s annual meeting, hosted on Saturday, May 7, 2022, the credit union announced its new Supervisory Committee members. Five new members will be joining the committee to provide their professional expertise and assist the credit union’s Management and Board of Directors by providing annual audits, conducting member account verification, and monitoring internal controls, financial trends, and reporting.

Incoming members Michelle Hill, Emma Romero, Marianne Rosas-Ayub, Sandra I. Serio, and Norma Wong Santaguida will join current Supervisory Committee Chairman Rene Vargas and Supervisory Committee Members Heber Moya and Richard Romero. Michelle Hill is a licensed attorney with 24+ years of legal experience in criminal prosecution, asset forfeiture, budget maintenance, and grant management. Ms. Hill currently works as the Trial Team Chief for the El Paso District Attorney’s Office. She also holds other affiliations as a Member of the Texas District and County Attorney’s Association, Member of the El Paso Bar Association, Executive Board Member of the George McAlmon Inns of Court, Sustaining Member of the Junior League of El Paso, and a Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Emma Romero brings 15 years of experience as an educator to the committee with a bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature, a master’s degree in Library Science, and additional certifications in school leadership. Ms. Romero has represented multiple local educational institutions within her career, including Clint ISD, Region 19, and the University of Texas at El Paso. She continues to serve the El Paso community with her leadership skills through her current role as a Librarian with Socorro ISD.

Marianne Rosas-Ayub is the Corporate Regional Sales and Marketing Director with Esperanto Developments and a Licensed Realtor with Clear View Realty. Her accomplishments from her hospitality management roles in operations, sales, and marketing have led her to receive the Perfect Balance Award in 2014 and the Crossroad Division for Interstate Hotels & Resorts Award in 2015. Ms. Rosas-Ayub has continuously involved herself on multiple boards since 2015. She now sits on the board for the City of El Paso Border Relations, El Paso Downtown Management Board of Directors, and the El Paso Hotel Lodging Association (EPHLA) as Education Committee chair.

Sandra I. Serio holds over 10 years of communications and donor relations experience in higher education. She is committed to advancing El Paso’s unique bi-national and bi-cultural region through her passion for education, equity, and community development. Ms. Serio is the Director of Donor Relations and Events for the University of Texas at El Paso. She is responsible for building the best practices donor relations unit within the Office of Institutional Advancement at UTEP. Before this role, Ms. Serio served as the primary liaison to District 1 constituency, addressing district and citywide issues and inquiries. During her time as a Legislative Aide, she elevated the City Representative’s municipal and legislative profile through her strategic communication and engagement that served as the catalyst for change within her district.

Norma Wong Santaguida has worked with Johnson & Johnson ETHICON Division for nearly 20 years, serving El Paso, Texas, and Seattle, Washington, as a Bariatric, Metabolic Disease, Energy Specialist, Account Executive, and Sales Trainer. With this, she brings executive experience with a record of accomplishments in developing and managing sales and business strategies with client-focused solutions to drive business expansion, revenue, and profit growth. Since 2003, Ms. Wong Santaguida has received 20 awards, recognizing her achievements in sales and leadership.
