TFCU sponsors Sunshine Boxes for Make-A-Wish recipients

EL PASO, TX (April 12, 2022) — TFCU is delighted to collaborate with Make-A-Wish North Texas to brighten this season for the kids in their program with a Sunshine Box. During the month of April, TFCU will be gifting 107 Sunshine Boxes filled with gifts, activities, a personal message, and a unique book donated by the El Paso Public Library. The kids that will be receiving these boxes include those that have their wish scheduled, as well as others who are waiting to fulfill their wishes and are on hold due to the COVID pandemic. TFCU is honored to provide a little ray of sunshine to the children in this program with the delivery of these boxes in April. “The impact that TFCU makes goes beyond financial services. It brings so much joy to my heart knowing that we (TFCU) could make a child smile today and show them that we care about them, no matter their circumstance,” stated Dania Angeles, Community Impact Manager at TFCU.
In 2019, a supporting wish mom, granter, and donor, had the idea to bring unexpected joy and surprise into the wish kids’ lives that Make-A-Wish serves, with a Sunshine Box. Now, a popular and rewarding engagement activity for corporate partners, community supporters, and donors, over 1000 wish kids have experienced the joy brought by these boxes since founded. “For some of the kids receiving these Sunshine Boxes, this is their first engagement with the Foundation, so it goes a long way in getting kids excited for their wish journey and is a great way to welcome them into the Make-A-Wish family,” shares Ashley Amerman, Director of Mission Integration & Engagement.
