The York Chapter of Credit Unions Awards Two Scholarships!

YORK, PA (May 20, 2013) On Monday, May 6, 2012, the York Chapter of Credit Unions announced the winners of its 2013 scholarship contest; Melissa Staley and Megan Greenplate.  Both ladies received $500 to go towards their first year of schooling.

Melissa is a Senior Honors student at Spring Grove Area High School.  She is the President of the National Honor Society, a Science Olympiad regional champion and participates in the band and orchestra.  She is also part of the Link Club and ESL Homework Club.  Melissa will attend Johns Hopkins University in the fall and major in Neuroscience.  She hopes to one day become a doctor.  She is a member of Glatco Credit Union.

Megan is a Senior Honors student at Red Lion Area Senior High School.  She is on the varsity softball and field hockey teams, and has participated in the Four Diamonds Fund Golf Outing.  Megan will attend Mansfield University in the fall and major in Biology and Environmental Science.  She hopes to one day work for the State Game Commission.  Megan is a member of First Capital Federal Credit Union.

“We are proud to support our Credit Union members by offering these scholarships,” said Bill Bowker, Chapter President.  “We wish both of these young ladies success in college.”
