Together Foundation Community Scholarship Program names recipients

SAINT LOUIS, MO (June 13, 2022) — Together Foundation, in conjunction with Together Credit Union, is awarding seven scholarships to deserving college-bound seniors through its Together Foundation Community Scholarship program. This announcement is in addition to the $19,500 awarded in May through the credit union’s Vince Jacknewitz Scholarship Program.

“Our community is filled with talented, hardworking students who are committed to achieving their goals. As a community, we need to support them as they pursue their aspirations,” said Claire Trunko, Chief People Officer.

The foundation launched the Together Foundation Community Scholarship Program in 2019 to fulfill the need for more community-based scholarships in the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area.  The following recipients will each receive a $1,500 college scholarship to help offset the costs associated with post-secondary education expenses for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year:

  1. Vahdet K., from Gateway Science Academy, attending Washington University
  2. Tegan J., from Belleville High School, attending Purdue University
  3. Sophia L., from Ladue Horton Watkins High School, attending the University of Pennsylvania
  4. Meredith S., from Pattonville High School, attending the University of Missouri-St. Louis
  5. Jordan D., from Hazelwood West High School, attending St. Louis University
  6. Grace B., from Rockwood Summit High School, attending Truman State University
  7. Annabelle S., from St. Pius X High School, attending Murray State University

The Together Foundation Community Scholarship was posted to St. Louis Graduates’ Scholarship Central to raise awareness of the scholarship program. The application is open to prospective and current collegians, ages 15 to 23, who live or work in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, and Jefferson County, MO, as well as Madison County and St. Clair County, IL.  As part of the application process, applicants submitted an information packet, which included a record of academic achievements, letters of recommendation, a list of scholastic and community activities, and a written or video essay.

This year, Together Foundation and Together Credit Union have collectively awarded 20 college scholarships, valued at $30,000, to deserving high school seniors. For more information regarding this release, please contact Julie Linder, PR & Events Strategist, (573) 268-0639.
