Current Executive Vice President, Michael Sferro, will begin his succession of CEO Rose Bartolomucci beginning on the first of January 2022. Sferro will serve as the President of the credit union throughout 2022, as Bartolomucci will continue her service as CEO until her retirement on December 31, 2022. Sferro will then succeed her as President and CEO beginning in 2023.
Sferro states “I am honored to have been named as the successor to our esteemed and highly respected President & CEO, Rose Bartolomucci. The opportunity to carry on the legacy she has built of rock-solid financial strength, outstanding Member service, and a best-in-class culture is something that I take very seriously and with a great deal of resolve. I will work every day to continue the legendary work Rose has done on behalf of our Members, our team, and the credit union movement.”
Bartolomucci has been in the credit union movement since 1977 and has been President / CEO of Towpath Credit Union since 2009. She is committed to ensuring that we meet our Members’ needs and is an advocate for making a financial difference in their lives. Bartolomucci has many accomplishments, including testifying before Congress and the Ohio State House to advocate for credit union rights. Her retirement at the end of December 2022 is incredibly well-earned.
Paul Mercer, President of the Ohio Credit Union League, offered his support of Sferro’s succession as President and CEO stating, “I wish to offer my hearty endorsement of Mike's favorable positioning as a future credit union CEO. Simply put, I stand in Mike's corner with great confidence that as Towpath's chief executive he will continue his rapid rise as a top leader for both [the] credit union and the Credit Union Movement.”
