From Sept. 20 to Nov. 30, 2016, United Federal Credit Union was matching online donations to the American Red Cross to assist in disaster relief efforts across the country. Contributors were offered a chance to direct their donation to Disaster Relief, Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, Forest Fires, and Where It’s Needed Most. UFCU committed to matching donations dollar-for-dollar.
87 people donated online which resulted in UFCU President/CEO Terry O’Rourke presenting a check to the American Red Cross on Jan. 19, 2018, for $7,575.
“We are deeply honored that so many people participated and believe, as we do, in the work the American Red Cross does to help survivors cope with the devastation and loss that follow natural disasters. We have Members in all of the affected areas and so we’re very aware of the impact these events have on a community,” says O’Rourke.
