United Federal Credit Union announces three IT department promotions

ST. JOSEPH, MI (March 25, 2015) — United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) announces three employees have been promoted to new positions in its Information Technology Department.

Dan Card has been named Director, Information Technology Infrastructure & Service Support. In his new role, Card will oversee all operational aspects of infrastructure and security services to ensure a stable and secure computing environment at UFCU, working with other decision makers to identify, develop, and implement cost-effective technology solutions for all areas of the organization.

Card was previously IT Security Manager at UFCU, where he was responsible for implementation, maintenance and oversight of the network security infrastructure including security framework, architecture and standards; email security; firewall infrastructure; vulnerability detection and intrusion detection.  Card’s prior Information Technology experiences include IT Security and Network Administrator positions at Consumers Energy, Sparrow Health System and Dow Chemical.

A native of Lansing, Michigan, Card earned and Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer and Network Technology from Davenport University, in Midland, Michigan, and a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Baker College of Business and Corporate Services, in Jackson, Michigan.  In addition to numerous IT certifications, Card is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional, a Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Systems and Network Auditor and a GIAC Certified Firewall Analyst.

Matt Eifler has been appointed to the position of eCommerce Technology Manager. In his new role, Eifler will be responsible for implementation, daily management and continuous improvement of platforms supporting UFCU digital delivery channel solutions.  Additionally, Eifler will provide guidance, resources and opportunities for the professional growth of the UFCU eCommerce Technology Team, promoting optimal team and individual performance towards UFCU goals.

Eifler was previously an eCommerce Support Technician with UFCU, serving as team leader on projects, planning, implementation and support, as well as managing day-to-day operational systems and processes.  Eifler’s prior service was as an eServices Member Service Advisor at UFCU, where he assisted members via multiple channels of electronic communication.

A native of Buchanan, Michigan, Eifler holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  He resides in Niles, Michigan.

Jamie Klein has been appointed to the position of Information Technology Service Support Manager. In his new role, Klein will oversee Service Desk and Deskside Support Specialists to ensure that end users receive support and maintenance within the organization’s desktop computing environment and that all activities are designed to deliver a quality user experience.

Klein was previously an IT Service Desk Supervisor with UFCU, where he provided day-to-day leadership to the Helpdesk Technician Team and served as an advanced-level escalation contact on system administration and design issues requiring deeper technical knowledge.  Klein’s prior Information Technology experiences include Network Administrator and Help Desk Specialist positions at UFCU

A native of Elkhart, Indiana, Klein studied Organizational Leadership at Purdue University in South Bend, Indiana; is a Microsoft Certified Professional, Desktop Support Technician and Systems Administrator, and is a Help Desk Institute Certified Team lead.  He resides in Elkhart.
