United Federal Credit Union expands its footprint in Reno

Public Invited to Attend Two Celebrations.

RENO, NV (March 5, 2015) — United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) is excited to announce that it is growing in Reno by adding two new banking centers. UFCU’s first in-store branch in its six state footprint will open on Monday, March 9, 2015. The following day, UFCU will break ground on a new branch to be constructed on Reno’s south side.

The in-store branch is located inside the Walmart SuperCenter at Firecreek Crossing Shopping Center, 4855 Kietzke Lane, Reno. The freestanding branch will be built at Summit Mall in Reno. Both branches will offer a full complement of services including loans, mortgages, checking accounts, debit and credit cards, investment planning and business lending.

“UFCU is committed to the greater Reno area and we are excited to add two new banking centers,” said Market Vice President Danny DeLaRosa. “The new locations will provide greater convenience and allow us to serve a growing number of Members in the Reno-Sparks area.”

Both banking centers are part of a multi-phase project aimed at supporting UFCU’s planned growth in the Reno-Sparks area. UFCU opened a new branch at 980 Ambassador Drive, Reno, in May 2014, bringing its current number of branches in the area to five — three branches in Reno and two in Sparks, including one at Reed High School.

The new in–store branch, which will be UFCU’s sixth branch in the area, will offer extended hours of service. It will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday. An ATM, located outside of the branch lobby, will be accessible from inside the Walmart SuperCenter, which is open 24 hours. The branch will also be equipped with video technology that will enable Members to connect remotely with mortgage or investment advisors.

The public is invited to attend the grand opening celebration for the in-store branch on March 9 at 11 a.m. The Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon-cutting ceremony, refreshments will be served and guests will receive small gifts while they last.

The public also is invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of the Summit branch on March 10 at 11 a.m. The summit branch is targeted for completion in late 2015. The Redmond Company of Waukesha, Wisconsin, has been selected to manage the construction project.
