United Federal Credit Union hosts free Community Shred Day at Rogers Avenue Branch

FORT SMITH, AK (March 6, 2015) — United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) is hosting a free Community Shred Day on Wednesday, March 11, from 2–6 p.m., at its branch at 5800 Rogers Avenue in Fort Smith. The branch is located in front of Hobby Lobby. Members, non-members, and businesses are invited to bring up to five boxes of paper items to be shredded on site.

“In the age of identity theft and personal security concerns, people and businesses are constantly putting themselves at risk by merely throwing documents out without a thought about where they might end up,” said UFCU Market Vice President Noel Sanger. “We want to make it easy for you to shred those documents and put your mind at ease.”

The documents will be disposed of by Shred-it Inc. of Springdale, Arkansas. Shred-it’s uniformed and bonded customer security representatives will transfer the documents from the owners to a secure document destruction truck parked at the branch where the papers will be immediately shredded into unrecognizable pieces.

For more information, contact Branch Manager Sarah Drummond at sdrummond@unitedfcu.com or (888) 982-1400 ext. 5750.
