United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) is pleased to announce the promotion of Lorie Owen to regional market development manager. In her new role, she will be responsible for maintaining and growing new relationships and will provide quality business deposit account and lending expertise through financial counseling and product awareness.
“This role is really focused on business development, member engagement, and positive public relations within the Niles community – all areas where Lorie has excelled as a valued member of our team for more than 17 years,” explains Emily Szymkiewicz, market vice president for the midwest region at UFCU. “She’s been with us as a treasured member of the Niles and Buchanan communities for so long, it’s fitting she be promoted to a role that requires strong community relationships and dependable knowledge of UFCU products and services.”
Lorie has been with UFCU since 2001, most recently as branch manager in Niles, Mich., but also serving over the years as a collector, collections manager, assistant branch manager and branch managers at Benton Harbor and Buchanan, Mich. Before joining UFCU, she served as a legal assistant at Stone, Campbell & Hoffelder, P.C., from 1997 to 2001.
Owen holds a master’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ferris State University and an associate's degree in applied science from Southwestern Michigan College.
