Unitus Community Credit Union Named Among “100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon”
PORTLAND, OR (March 7, 2013) —Unitus Community Credit Union, a Portland-based credit union with nearly 80,000 members, has been named by Oregon Business magazine as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon.” The recognition marks the second straight year that Unitus has been honored for its outstanding work environment and corporate culture.
The “100 Best Companies” recognition is given to businesses based solely upon the opinions of their employees. Participating employees are given an independent survey in which they are asked to rank their employers on company conditions, work/life balance, commitment to diversity, professional opportunities and development, employee treatment, and pay and benefits, among other categories.
According to anonymous published responses, survey participants cited Unitus’ “open door” policy between leadership and employees, commitment to community giving, corporate integrity, rewarding team atmosphere, member care and respect for employee input as important workplace benefits.

Companies were recognized in three categories—large, medium and small. Unitus ranks 13th in the large company category and is one of only three credit unions honored in any category.
