University Credit Union announces new hires and staff promotions

University Credit Union (UCU), Maine’s only full-service financial institution chartered to serve University of Maine System students, employees, alumni and their families, is pleased to announce several new hires and staff promotions in Presque Isle and Orono.

Jenn Deschene, of Presque Isle, joined UCU as Campus Branch Manager at the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI). Deschene comes to UCU from The County Federal Credit Union and brings more than 16 years of experience in financial services and the credit union movement. In this role, Deschene is responsible for all campus branch operations and facilities, as well as developing member relationships within the UMPI campus community.

Carla Walton, of Bangor, has been promoted to Electronic Branch Manager in Orono. Walton joined UCU in 2012, and for the past four years has served as a Collections Specialist. A former business owner, she brings many years of experience in management, human resources, employee training and customer service. In her new role, Walton will oversee the credit union’s electronic service channels, including its Video Teller system, and will be responsible for ensuring the highest degree of member satisfaction.

Abbey Ramsay, of Carmel, has been promoted to Consumer Lending Manager in Orono. Ramsay joined UCU in 2013, and for the past five years has served as an Electronic Loan Specialist, Electronic Branch Supervisor, and Electronic Branch Manager. She has more than eight years of experience in financial services and lending. In her new role, Ramsay will oversee all aspects of consumer lending origination for UCU.
