Vermont Federal Credit Union celebrates grand opening of relocated Middlebury branch

MIDDLEBURY, VT (November 6, 2013) — Vermont Federal Credit Union celebrated the Grand Opening of their newly relocated Middlebury Branch with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Monday, October 28th 2013.  Attendees included: Bernie Isabelle, President/CEO, Thomas Crapo, Senior Vice President of Operations, Jean Giard, Senior Vice President/CFO, Lisa Randall, Senior Vice President of Lending & Marketing, Lance Potter, Senior Vice President of Information Systems and Cynthia Turner, Vice President of Human Resources.  Also in attendance were members from the Addison County Chamber of Commerce and those involved in the development of the project.

Monday’s grand opening celebration began with speeches from both Bernie Isabelle and Thomas Crapo, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony and a continental breakfast prepared by a local bakery.  Isabelle and Crapo both commented on the ease of the permitting process and the immense support from all who were involved. Isabelle continued to thank the town for “being the epitome of a business-friendly municipality.”  Isabelle also thanked the staff at the Credit Union, the board of directors, contracted businesses, and many others who assisted in making this project as seamless as possible.

The 4,700 square-foot, full-service Middlebury Branch officially opened for business on October 15th and supports expanded services to this market with additional parking, a convenient drive-thru and enhanced member and loan services.  The building is located at 1 Court Street in Middlebury and will be open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with extended hours until 6:00 p.m. on Friday’s.  The branch and drive-thru will also be open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 (noon) on Saturdays.

Vermont Federal Credit Union has been a part of the Middlebury community for over twenty years, previously servicing members’ financial needs at Washington Street and in the old Marble Works. The Credit Union is excited to be able to continue serving the Middlebury community for years to come with this new, full-service branch.

General Contractor, Farrington Construction of Shelburne completed the project.  Civil Engineering was performed by Otter Creek Engineering out of Middlebury and Architect services were provided by Wiemann Lamphere Architects of Colchester.
