The thermometer may have read 40 degrees on Saturday morning but that didn’t stop over 30 people from plunging into Lake Kennekuk. Vibrant Credit Union’s first annual “Freezin’ For A Reason” fundraiser raised over $2,000 for Danville’s AMBUCS chapter.
“Every penny raised will go back into the Danville community through our local Danville AMBUCS chapter,” said Matt McCombs, CEO and President of Vibrant Credit Union. “We’re hoping to raise a generous amount to help AMBUCS in their mission of creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities.”
Participants each donated a minimum of $50 to jump into the freezing cold Lake Kennekuk. This event was sponsored and organized by Vibrant Credit Union with help from local volunteers.
“It’s fun, I mean, you get to raise money for a good cause and you get to do something that you wouldn’t normally do,” said Steve Ducey, Vibrant’s Chief Experience Officer.
