VP Petroleum names Cardtronics Exclusive ATM Provider
Scotiabank and Cooperativa de Lares brand newly placed ATMs; premium locations still available for financial institution branding
HOUSTON, TX (May 1, 2014) — VP Petroleum has named Cardtronics, Inc. (Nasdaq:CATM) its exclusive ATM services provider. VP Petroleum is the largest gasoline distributor in Puerto Rico. Its stores are operated under the Puma Energy and Total Petroleum brands. Cardtronics is the world’s largest retail ATM owner.
With this agreement, VP Petroleum consolidates multiple vendor relationships, moving forward with Cardtronics as its single-source provider of ATM services at 41 stores. As part of the transition to Cardtronics, all existing ATM equipment will be replaced, resulting in a total ATM fleet refresh for VP Petroleum’s stores. Cardtronics also has expansion rights for future VP Petroleum locations.
Scotiabank and Cooperativa de Lares are the first financial institutions to use Cardtronics’ ATM Branding program to provide surcharge-free cash access for their account holders at select VP Petroleum locations. Additional locations are still available to financial institutions who also wish to expand their brand presence.
