WEOKIE Federal Credit Union appoints new President
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (July 15, 2020) — WEOKIE Federal Credit Union, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has announced the appointment of Jeff Carpenter as its next President and CEO. Carpenter will replace the retiring Brent Taylor in early 2021, following Brent’s over 30 years of service, the last 13 years as President & CEO. During Brent’s tenure as President, the credit union more than doubled in assets to $1.2 billion, expanded into new markets, added new products and services, all while developing a purpose-driven organization focused on serving members as their trusted financial advisor.
“Brent has been an insightful leader who has helped guide WEOKIE to elite credit union status. He and the credit union team have elevated WEOKIE to be an impactful business in our community.” remarked Warren Pybas, WEOKIE Chair. He added, “I am excited about the Board’s selection of Jeff as WEOKIE’s next President and have full confidence in his abilities. Bright days are ahead for the credit union!”
Carpenter will join WEOKIE early next year, bringing with him over 33 years of experience in the credit union movement including executive positions with the Ohio and Oklahoma Credit Union Leagues, US Central Credit Union, Credit Union National Association, American Association of Credit Union Leagues, and Wright-Patt Credit Union. He is currently President & CEO of CME Federal Credit Union in Columbus, Ohio, a position he has held since 2016. Carpenter began his life-long credit union career as founding Chairman and President of the First Miami University Student & Alumni FCU.
Carpenter stated, “I am thrilled to join WEOKIE and I am looking forward to contributing to WEOKIE’s legacy of serving members and communities by delivering extraordinary value in financial services through the powerful credit union cooperative business model.” He added, “It has been a true honor and pleasure to serve CME members, especially our first responders who founded CME in 1935. I will miss the outstanding collaborative partnership with the Board, management, staff and members and I thank them all for their support over the past five years.”
CME has appointed a search committee to find its new President & CEO.
