Wheelhouse Credit Union (Wheelhouse) has entered a new partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation to advance the organizations’ shared goal of environmental sustainability.
Through the partnership, Wheelhouse and the Arbor Day Foundation will work together to facilitate the restoration of forests and plant trees in the communities they collectively serve. The organizations will expand their partnership in the coming months to positively impact the San Diego community and beyond.
“Collaborating with organizations focused on reducing climate change impact and improving the environment we live in is a key Wheelhouse priority. We are excited to partner with the Arbor Day Foundation as a recognized leader in supporting the health of our communities and planet through planting trees and protecting forests,” said Wheelhouse President/CEO Lisa Paul-Hill. “We look forward to working together toward our shared passion of environmental sustainability to help our beautiful San Diego community thrive.”
The partnership also celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Arbor Day Foundation on April 29, 2022. Established in 1972 on the 100th anniversary of the Arbor Day Holiday, the Arbor Day Foundation is the largest 501(c)3 nonprofit membership organization dedicated to planting trees. To date, the Foundation has planted nearly 500 million trees around the world.
“This is an important year for the Foundation, with our 50th anniversary and the 150th anniversary of the Arbor Day Holiday coinciding.” Said Dan Lambe, Chief Executive of the Arbor Day Foundation “We’re happy to have partners like Wheelhouse who share our commitment to the planet and recognize the benefits trees bring to all of us.”
With environmental sustainability as a central part of Wheelhouse’s community commitment, the credit union has committed to supporting San Diego’s move to 100% clean energy by 2035. The credit union’s award-winning solar and energy efficiency loans have made Wheelhouse the #1 solar loan provider in San Diego.
