2014 holiday card spending skyrockets

The Members Group (TMG) and its strategic partner CO-OP Financial Services, in conjunction with Saylent, found credit spending increased nearly 13 percent and debit spending increased nearly 7 percent year over year during this year’s Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping period.

TMG’s issuing partners have told us they want to understand transaction volume trends. Yet they are also interested in data that demonstrates an evolution in the way consumers are paying.

For example, credit unions and banks want to know: Are consumers increasingly turning to digital channels, and when they are, which platforms are providing the best experience?
