Every credit union leader started somewhere.
They attended their first conference, introduced themselves to someone new, asked questions, built relationships, and discovered opportunities that helped shape their career.
The DCUC Annual 2026 Crasher Program is designed to create those same opportunities for the next generation of credit union professionals and features an exclusive mentorship component that pairs Crashers with respected credit union executives and industry leaders!
This unique mentorship provides meaningful one-on-one engagement throughout the conference for each DCUC Crasher.
Applications are open through June 12, and DCUC is inviting emerging credit union professionals from across the movement to apply for this unique opportunity to grow, connect, and lead!
For smaller credit unions in particular, the program provides a valuable and affordable way to support professional development.
Selected Crashers receive complimentary conference registration, making it possible for more rising professionals to attend one of the industry's premier events while only covering travel and lodging expenses.
As a Crasher, you'll gain access to educational sessions, industry thought leaders, innovative partners, and networking opportunities that can help shape the trajectory of your career. More importantly, you'll become part of a welcoming community that believes in developing new voices and empowering future leaders.

Throughout the conference, Crashers engage in meaningful conversations, connect with peers from across the country, and gain firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities facing credit unions today. The relationships built during the week often become lasting friendships, mentorships, and professional networks that continue long after the conference ends.
“What a week! Being selected to crash this year's DCUC Annual Conference was such an honor and privilege. I'm so proud to have represented Andrews Federal Credit Union and this week would not have been possible without the leaders and mentors I have had along the way, who provided this opportunity and continue to push me out of my comfort zone. I’m leaving Florida motivated to continue on this path of learning and taking part in the next generation of the credit union industry.”
— Emma Looper, 2024 DCUC Crasher
One of the most rewarding aspects of the Crasher experience is discovering firsthand the collaborative spirit that defines the credit union movement.

“All I can say is wow! I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to crash the DCUC. The Credit Union industry is so kind and genuine in wanting to see each other succeed. The speakers, networking, and fellow crashers were amazing!”
— Riley Borowicz, 2024 DCUC Crasher
For professionals serving military communities, DCUC Annual also provides valuable perspectives on how credit unions can continue strengthening support for servicemembers, veterans, and their families.

“I learned many ways on how our credit unions can better connect and serve our military members and their families. From financial wellness workshops and tailoring products to meet the unique needs of our members, we can make a greater impact to those that serve our country.”
— Sache Rodriguez, 2025 DCUC Crasher
Beyond professional development, Crashers also have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through charitable initiatives and special DCUC traditions supporting military and veteran communities.
“This experience was filled with meaningful conversations, collaborative networking, and valuable insights on how we can continue innovating to better serve our military families. One of the highlights of the week was collaborating with my fellow Crashers to raise over $5,700 for the Fisher House Foundation, supporting military and veteran families during medical care. I’m proud to be part of a mission-focused community that puts service and impact at the forefront.”
— Briana Pulido, 2025 DCUC Crasher
The experience leaves many participants inspired not only by what they learn, but by the people they meet along the way.

“What a transformational week! I had the incredible privilege of attending the Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) Annual Conference as a ‘Crasher’ in Palm Desert, California. It was truly inspiring to be surrounded by leaders and peers who are passionate about making a difference. I am especially lucky to have been paired with Maggie Sayer as my mentor. Congratulations on being named DCUC Board Chair, Maggie! A standout moment? Teaming up with my fellow Crashers to raise over $5,700 for the Fisher House Foundation. I’m incredibly proud to be part of a purpose-driven community that leads with service, collaboration, and heart.”
— Natalie Kitt, 2025 DCUC Crasher
