Dort Federal Credit Union partners with United Way of Genesee County for Service-in-a-Box

Dort Federal Credit Union employees came together on Monday, January 15, 2018 to help support good causes.  Giving back to the community is not only a core principle at Dort Federal Credit Union, but also part of the culture.  Employees and board members supported the United Way of Genesee County and their Service in a Box project.  Dort Federal Credit Union believes that they have an obligation to help the community we live, work, and worship in.

Dort Federal Credit Union helped the United Way launch their Service in a Box project.  Employees and board members made 27 Birthday Boxes for Whaley Children’s Hospital, 180 Sensory Calming Bottles for House of Esther, 27 quart sized bags of Laundry Soap for Catholic Charities of Genesee and Shiawassee Counties and 80 Dog Toys for The Humane Society of Genesee County and Flint City Pits.

“Giving back to the community is something we do year round, not just during the holidays” said Vick Hawkins CEO and President of Dort Federal Credit Union.  “There is a positive impact that you get from experiences like this.  Not only are we enriching the communities we live in but we are also engaging our employees in an experience that allows our team to become closer.  Activities like this benefit the entire organization as it promotes team cohesion and stronger collaboration.”
