San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is supporting local college athletics as a sponsor of the San Diego State University (SDSU) Aztec Basketball 2018-2019 season.
“We are excited to support collegiate student-athletes and the proud tradition of the Aztecs,” said SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Halleck Campbell. “San Diego State University is an integral part of the fabric of our community, and this is one way to give back and promote the highest level of competition among young student athletes.”
The San Diego State men’s team enters the 2018-2019 season ranked No. 33 nationally by Lindy’s Sports. Lindy’s also predicts that the team will finish second place in the Mountain West and make the 2019 NCAA tournament. Head coach Brian Dutcher, is entering his second season as the Aztec’s head coach, after leading the team to the NCAA tournament and a Mountain West-high 11th conference title during his head coaching debut in the 2017-2018 season.
The Aztecs, both women’s and men’s teams, play their home games at Viejas® Arena, located on the SDSU campus. San Diego State’s women’s team broke a program record for attendance last year, drawing over 22,000 fans over the course of the 16 game season. The men’s team finished the 2017-2018 campaign ranked first in average home attendance among all California Division I universities for the eight consecutive year.
