Navy Federal names new Chief Information Officer

Today Navy Federal Credit Union announced the promotion of Anthony “Tony” Gallardy to serve as the new Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Gallardy is taking the reins from Bill Hills, who is retiring after nearly a decade of service with the credit union.

Gallardy began his career with Navy Federal 33 years ago. He has served as Navy Federal’s Vice President of Global Telecommunication Services, then as Senior Vice President of Consumer and Credit Card Lending prior to his role as the Deputy CIO. For the past five years, Gallardy served as Senior Vice President, Deputy to the Chief Information Officer and was responsible for internal service delivery, IT systems, and project execution.

In 2004, Gallardy received the Samuel Pennestri Memorial Award for his devotion and loyalty to Navy Federal, which is the credit union’s utmost prestigious award.

“Tony truly values our intent to serve and financially protect our members and he has always remained devoted to our mission. With that focus and his more than 30 years of diversified experience throughout the credit union, Tony is the right person to lead our Information Services Department forward,” said Mary McDuffie, Navy Federal’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
