AMOCO Federal Credit Union mourns the loss of former Supervisory Committee Member, Chris Reed

The Board of Directors and employees of AMOCO Federal Credit Union extend their heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of Kemah Police Chief, Chris Reed.

Reed passed away after a tragic boating accident about 1.5 miles north of the Texas City Dike on Friday, June 7, 2019. His passing is a tremendous loss to his family and many others in the Galveston County community, including AMOCO Federal Credit Union.

Reed was a member of the credit union and served on AMOCO’s Advisory Committee in 2011 and was appointed to serve on the Supervisory Committee from 2011-2015.

Reed was a visionary leader who lived a life of service. He was a trusted advisor, friend, and advocate for the credit union and played a vital role in helping AMOCO open its Nassau Bay Branch in 2014. In addition to helping the credit union with growth initiatives, he also introduced new ideas to help strengthen the credit union’s internal culture. We will forever miss his leadership and commitment to the credit union and community.
