Sikorsky Credit Union employees host a book drive and donate over 200 books

Sikorsky Credit Union organized a Book Drive and donated over 200 books to the Literacy Volunteer Center in Milford, CT.

Sikorsky Credit Union celebrated National Literacy Month with a Book Drive to give back to the community. The Book Drive took place throughout the month of September and employees generously donated over 200 new and gently used books. Ken Ferrari, SVP, Chief Experience Officer explained, “We know the children and families will be excited to add these new books to their homes. Sikorsky Credit Union takes great pride in giving back to the communities we serve. We are happy we could help spread the joy of reading to children at the Literacy Volunteer Center.”

The Literacy Volunteer Center is a non-profit organization that has been building literacy in the Greater Milford and Stratford Areas with quality programs for thousands of local adults and children. The ability to read and write is the basis for all other education.

Suzanne Solensky, Executive Director of Literacy Volunteers of Southern CT shared, “We were thrilled to receive over 200 children’s books from the employees of Sikorsky Credit Union. Because of their generous donation, many more children in Stratford, Milford and West Haven will have books in their homes. Community partners such as the credit union are essential to our efforts to support children’s literacy."
