America’s First Federal Credit Union (AmFirst) announced today the promotion of Terry Sanderson to Vice President—Experience Officer. Sanderson most recently served as AmFirst’s Regional Director in Branch Services and has been with the member-driven financial institution for 34 years.
“Terry’s more than three decades of impressive branch and operational experience is matched only by her passion and enthusiasm to make a difference for our employees and membership,” said Audra Weber, Senior Vice President—Chief Operating Officer. “We look forward to her leadership in action as she develops new and inventive ways to enhance the AmFirst experience among all stakeholders.”
In her new role, she will be responsible for focusing on member and employee needs and developing plans and strategies to ensure exceptional and consistent experience is delivered to both AmFirst members and employees across the credit union’s bandwidth.

Sanderson joined AmFirst in 1979 at the start of her career. Since that time, she has held several positions, including File Clerk, New Accounts Representative, Collection Clerk, Loan Writer, Loan Officer, Indirect Loan Officer, Supervisor of Member Services and Branch Manager. Sanderson moved to the Branch Services Department in 2018 where she served as a Regional Director managing five of the credit union’s Birmingham branches.
A Tuscaloosa and Birmingham native, Sanderson is a Minor High School graduate. Since joining AmFirst, she has also graduated with honors from the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Management School in July 2021, obtaining her Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE) certification.
This announcement comes on the heels of the recent promotion of Nancy Rice to Senior Vice President—Chief Risk Officer. AmFirst representatives will continue to evolve its senior staff throughout the year as a testament to the credit union’s commitment to better equip its team to serve its members and extended communities alike.
