The League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) Board of Directors recently met to approve the 2022 lawmakers of the year. During the nomination and approval process, legislator’s contributions to, and support for, credit unions were discussed.
The Federal Advocacy Policy Committee voted to nominate Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) as the 2022 Federal Lawmaker of the Year, which was later approved by the LSCU Board of Directors. He was formally honored this week in Washington, D.C.
Senator Tuberville serves as a member of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry and a member of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. In these roles, Senator Tuberville is able to make a tremendous impact for the constituents of Alabama.
“Immediately upon being sworn in, Coach Tuberville became a close ally and friend to the credit union community and the members they serve throughout Alabama,” stated Patrick La Pine, CEO of LSCU & Affiliates. “Coach has shown time and time again that he will not stand for overregulation and will continue to protect main street businesses and consumers. The exemplary public service from Coach Tuberville’s office is exactly why Alabama credit unions and the LSCU Board of Directors are proud to honor him as our 2022 Federal Lawmaker of the Year.”
We are grateful to Coach Tuberville and appreciate his service on behalf of our members across the state.
