Royal Credit Union (Royal) is celebrating National Credit Union Youth Month in April. This year’s theme, “Unleash the Power of Saving,” encourages kids to develop healthy saving habits by making it fun and exciting.
If you have been wondering how to empower your kids to save for their future, National Credit Union Youth Month is a great opportunity to start!
Here are the ways Royal is celebrating in April:
All Royal Members 12 years old and under are automatically enrolled in Kid’s Club, which makes them eligible for prizes and invitations to exclusive Kid’s Club events. During the month of April any new savings account opened for children 12 years old and younger will have the initial $5.00 deposited by Royal. Only one savings account per person is allowed. Kid’s Club Members earn stamps on their Super Saver card when they make a deposit. From April 17 to April 22, all Kid’s Club Members will receive double the stamps for “Double Stamp Week.” Starting April 3, Kid’s Club Members can visit any Royal location to sign up to win a “Unleash the Power of Saving” gift basket. Winners will be announced and contacted the week of April 24. Fun coloring pages will also be available for Kid’s Club Members throughout the month.

Royal is also celebrating the 30th anniversary of the School $ense program this April. In total, Royal operates 30 student-run credit union locations in elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools across Wisconsin and Minnesota. Just over 370 students work for the program each year. Program wide, participants in School $ense conduct over 18-thousand transactions each year. As an added incentive to help partner elementary schools, for every 300-500 student deposits made, Royal donates $150-$250 to the school.
During the month of April, participating Royal elementary School $ense locations will hold a classroom worksheet challenge that teachers will complete with students for a chance to win an activity basket for their class. Each prize basket will include items for each student in the winning classroom, along with something fun for the classroom to enjoy as a whole.
