Amplifying credit unions’ financial capability efforts

America’s Credit Unions’ advocacy team was on Capitol Hill Thursday for an event celebrating April as Financial Capability Month.

Credit unions do so much to support the financial well-being and resiliency of their members and communities. And many of the staff on Capitol Hill are credit union members and are just as invested in their financial future as your members around the country.

I’ve heard directly from Hill staff about how working with Congressional Federal Credit Union or U.S. Senate Federal Credit Union after starting their job on Capitol Hill was a great help in keeping their finances under control.

These are the same staff members we interact with on a regular basis to share our priorities, schedule meetings, and make sure the credit union voice is heard. This was an opportunity to show members, their staff, and others exactly what credit unions offer as financial services providers, and what the difference is between a credit union member and a bank customer.
