Bureau to provide HMDA update during NAFCU webinar

Representatives from the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection (previously the CFPB) will join NAFCU Friday for a free webinar that will provide an update on Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) implementation. Registration for this free webinar is required.

The bureau last month published a final rule to implement amendments made to HMDA by S. 2155 (the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act). The new law exempts certain credit unions from collecting and reporting on certain data points added to HMDA by the Dodd-Frank Act. A recent NAFCU Compliance Blog post explains the final rule and which data points are included in the partial exemption.

During Friday’s webinar, bureau Project Manager Keiley O’Hallaron and Office of Mortgage Markets Policy Analyst Patrick Orr will provide credit unions with an update on HMDA implementation and answer questions credit unions have about complying with the law or changes made by S. 2155. Questions can be submitted ahead of the webinar during the registration process.
