CO-OP Miracle Match Program is changing children’s lives

Back in April 2012, Credit Unions Online introduced its readers to Credit Union for Kids, and the amazing work they’re doing to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) who provide medical help to sick and injured children regardless of their ability to pay for these services. Credit Unions for Kids is a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions, chapters, leagues/associations and business partners from across the country, engaged in fundraising activities dedicated to the kids and families served by CMN Hospitals.

With 2013 marking the 15th Anniversary of Credit Unions for Kids, it seems fitting to revisit and recognize their positive impact on the community as well as bring to light another important program they are linked with, CO-OP Miracle Match.

Launched in 2008, Miracle Match is a $1 million per-year philanthropic matching program that encourages credit unions, chapters and leagues to create and participate in local events to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The program was initiated so CO-OP Financial Services, on behalf of its 3,500 client credit unions, could do even more to encourage institutions and organizations to conduct Credit Unions for Kids fundraisers.

“CO-OP Miracle Match has served as a great incentive for credit unions to get involved with CU4Kids and their local CMN Hospital,” said Bill Prichard, Manager, CO-OP Public Relations & Corporate Communications. “It has led directly to the establishment of new events and campaigns which have resulted in new, incremental dollars for our hospitals.”
