Credit union champions find success on election night

It’s been a very busy week for credit unions, starting with the credit union champions around the country that had a successful night in Tuesday’s mid-term elections. CUNA, the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC), and League-backed candidates are winning at a 96% rate.

These efforts also include 47 supporters who won open seat elections, which means we have new members of Congress to work with to advance credit union policies. CUNA and Leagues met with them leading up to the election and look forward to officially working together on behalf of members and communities.

There will be a slim margin in both chambers regardless of the total number of seats each party controls, which allows us to continue our bipartisan engagement to advance credit union priorities. We’ve found success working across the aisle on common-sense bipartisan solutions and will continue that in the next Congress.
