CUNA calls for CU-friendly provisions in gov’t funding legislation

CUNA wrote to leadership of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees Monday to include House report language in any final appropriations legislation for fiscal year 2019. The House and Senate are in Washington, D.C. this week and are expected to continue negotiations to fund the government through the end of the fiscal year.

CUNA worked with House appropriators last year to include three provisions in three different appropriations bills, however, none have been enacted into law.

The provisions include language that states:

  • The Department of Justice should clarify website accessibility standards under the Americans with Disabilities Act. The language notes CUNA’s argument that the confusion due to lack of standards “disadvantages small businesses that provide essential services for our communities;”
