CUs called to share FCC auto call blocking concerns before Thursday

CUNA issued an action alert Tuesday designed to solicit credit union comments on the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) upcoming vote on a declaratory ruling on default call blocking. CUNA’s Grassroots Action Center contains information about the issue and provides a submission form to send comments to the FCC by the end of the day Thursday.

FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai announced earlier this month the FCC will take action on a proposal that would allow voice service providers to block robocalls by default, the consumer would have to opt in to receive such communications.

The FCC is expected to vote at its June 6 meeting on the proposal, and comments are due by Thursday, May 30. The relatively short time frame is what led CUNA to issue the action alert.
