Enough: Redefining success on your own terms

enough

When was the last time you asked yourself, “Is this enough?” Not in the burnout sense—but in the quiet, honest way we reflect on how we define success, what drives us, and what truly matters.

For much of my life, I measured success by doing more. More growth, more visibility, more opportunity. And I don’t regret the hustle—it got me here. But somewhere along the way, I realized that more wasn’t always better. Sometimes, more was just more. And it left little room for meaning.

So I started asking different questions.

What does success feel like—not just look like? What’s worth my time, my energy, my presence? Who am I when I’m not achieving, producing, or proving?

It’s not always comfortable to sit with those questions. Especially in leadership, where the pressure is real and the scoreboard is public. But I’ve found that the more I define success on my terms—not someone else’s—the more aligned my leadership feels.

And that’s the shift I want to invite others into.

Success doesn’t have to be a moving target. It doesn’t have to be fueled by fear or comparison. Sometimes, success is choosing rest over urgency. Sometimes, it’s making space for the parts of your life that don’t show up on a resume but mean everything to you.

Sometimes, it’s just saying: “I am already enough. This is already enough.”

On the latest episode of The CUInsight Experience podcast, Jill and I had a real conversation between the two of us about what enough means in leadership and in life. We hope it gives you some space to pause and reflect too.

Thanks for being part of this community. I know how hard you work—and how much heart you bring to this movement. This isn’t about doing less. It’s about being intentional with what you pursue, and making sure your definition of success includes your values, your well-being, and your own sense of fulfillment. You get to define what “enough” looks like for you.
