How to be the employee your team needs

It’s nice when you feel like a valuable member of a team. Here are three ways you can be the employee your team needs…

Put up or … well you know: If you’re going to make a promise, you should keep it. You don’t have to say ‘yes’ all the time. Don’t overcommit. It’s okay to say no sometimes. Just make sure, if you say you’re going to do something, do something.

Kick the habit: Are you often late? Have you been known to engage in gossip? Think about it. Are there things that are preventing others from trusting or depending on you? What good habits can you pick up to assist your coworkers?

Be a problem solver: Sometimes failure is simple a problem. You’ve probably been told once or twice to put your failures behind you. I’m going to tell you to reexamine the problem and get to the bottom of it. When you’re able to pinpoint simple issues that are affecting your performance, you may inspire your team to do the same. Don’t be afraid to admit mistakes. Being upfront and honest is a great trait to have.
